Galaxidi to Dimitsana

Today was a driving day from Galaxidi (which we hated to leave) to the mountain town of Dimitsana, with one very important stop in Ancient Olympia along the way—but that is covered in another post.

The drive from Galaxidi follows the northern coast of the Gulf of Corinth and crosses over to the Peloponnese via the Rio-Antirrio suspension bridge. We reached Ancient Olympia after about three hours, spent a few magical hours there (another post) and forged on to Dimitsana through some narrow, twisty mountain roads that are probably best done in daylight by skilled drivers.

We arrived at the Amanitas Guesthouse, an exceptionally charming series of rooms and common areas built into the steep hillside. More on that later.

Our spate of good weather continues…

Here are a few photos.
